During this period i have been DJ'ing at private functions, weddings, anniversaries etc. through the M & M Entertainments agency
Working for DJ Mike Mawdsley has enabled me to DJ once again at the Cresta Court, Altrincham, for their 70's 80's and 90's party nights.
2009 H Nicholsons, Altrincham
After Fridays Nightclub closed i did a few sets most Friday and Saturday nights at H Nicholsons in Altrincham, as a Guest DJ alongside DJ Garry Vincent.
On several occasions i covered DJ Garry's absence by DJ'ing at Nicholsons.
Later in 2009 I DJ'ed for several months at the Red Cow, in Knutsford.
2006 – 2008 Fridays Nightclub Northenden
I started at Fridays club on opening night when it reopened after a mayor refit. I worked for the majority of the time in the Palatine room playing 80’s and alternative music. The music policy for the Palatine room later changed to just 80’s pop.
I also did occasional nights in the Main Room playing R’N’B, chart and dance music.
In January 2009, Fridays closed for refurbishment.
2004 – 2006 ‘Fridays in the City’ Bar, Manchester City Centre
I started at ‘Fridays in the City’ through a DJ Agency, and worked on a Saturday night mixing dance music. I played trance and bouncy house (Wigan Pier anthems), and lots of old skool club classics.
‘Fridays in the City’ stopped opening on Friday and Saturday nights and I was offered the chance to work at Fridays Nightclub.
2003 – 2004 The Cresta Court Hotel, Altrincham (Agency Work)
Although I still played at private parties during this period, the majority of my work was for the Cresta Court Hotel in Altrincham (through a DJ Agency). I DJ’ed at the party nights which the hotel regularly hosted (and still does); these were 70’s and 80’s nights, 80’s and 90’s nights, Motown and Soul Nights, and I even did a Robbie and Kylie night! Guests were given a chicken in a basket meal which was followed by a quiz and then music and dancing until 1 am.
I stopped working at the Cresta Court when the chance to work at ‘Fridays in the City’ came up.
2001 – 2003 Various Parties and Pub Residencies
During this period as well as DJ'ing at Priors Bar (formerly Mantos) in the Trafford Centre, I worked at a number of pubs in the Wythenshawe area, usually for several months at a time. I also did the DJ’ing at many Weddings, Birthdays and other functions.
2001 Bunny’s Bar, Faliraki, Rhodes, Greece
During the summer of 2001 I worked for 3 months as the resident DJ at Bunny’s Bar in the resort of Faliraki, on the Greek Island of Rhodes. I played chart and party music 7 nights a week for 3 months and had just one night off during that time.
1999 – 2000 Various Pubs/ Parties as part of a ‘UB40 Tribute’ act
During this time I worked with a singer called Derek, whose singing voice sounded just like that of Ali Campbell, from reggae group UB40. Our act consisted of me playing chart and party music for a warm up set, and then again after each of his singing sets.
I would cue up his backing music (on minidisk) and then adjust the sound levels appropriately during his performances.
We had a series of Pubs which we visited on a regular basis (usually once a month), and we were also hired to play at private parties.
1997 - 1999 Various Parties and Pub Residencies
Since first purchasing my Mobile DJ equipment in 1997, I DJ’ed at a number of parties, and functions. I DJ'ed at the NoWhere Bar in Manchester, and also had a residency for several months at the Derby Brewery Arms Public House in Cheetham Hill.
